Outdoor Playground

Tuesday, April 20 from 12 p.m. - 6 p.m. - You're invited to play in the library's backyard! Featuring oversized Connect 4, oversized checkers, lawn bowling, cornhole, ladder golf and ring toss. This event is for all ages and no registration is required. Masks must be worn at all times. Equipment will be wiped down after each use. An appointment is required to visit the inside of the library. 


"Gross-o-Rama"  Mad Science Virtual Workshop

Tuesday, April 20 at 2 p.m.  - Get ready for the chemistry of grossness and ickiness as you discover the science of body-associated smells and other vile substances! The  at-home scientist will conduct a gummy worm experiment, create their own mucus and more. You supply the ingredients, we supply the instructor! Registration is required. Please be advised that this program will be conducted on Zoom with a live instructor.

The at-home scientist will need:


For Franken Worms:

- A clear glass bowl or cup

- Gummy worms (2)

- Scissors

- Baking soda (2 tablespoons)

- Vinegar (1/2 cup)


For Make Your Own Mucus:

- Hot water (from electric kettle or teapot)

- Large fork

- ½ cup measuring cup

- Light corn syrup

- Packets of clear gelatin (3 packets)

- A bowl to put the mucus on


For Cheesy Chemistry:

- A mason jar (or similar)

- 1 cups of milk

- 1/2 cup of vinegar

- Stirring rod or similar

- Food coloring


For Dancing Raisins:

- Clear glass

- Club soda or similar (sprite, ginger ale, seltzer, etc)

- 5-6 raisins
